How it works
firebid.lol ranks apps by one number: what their makers paid to be there. No editors, no algorithm, no reviews to game.
One number decides the order
A listing's rank is the sum of everything its owner has ever paid for it. That is the whole algorithm. There are no editors, no reviews, no engagement score and nothing to game — if an app is above yours, it paid more than yours.
Being outbid does not remove you
This is the part that matters. When somebody outbids you, your listing moves down the board. It is never taken off it. The money you paid keeps buying the place it bought, which is why there are no refunds to chase, no expiring rank and no reason to top up defensively.
Paying again from the same URL adds to the same total and climbs from where you already are. You never start over.
Prices
A place on the board starts at $1 and moves in whole dollars. Taking #1 costs a dollar more than whatever the current leader has paid in total, so the top of the board gets more expensive as the board grows. Nothing else scales it.
The sponsor rail is a different product: 6 fixed placements for 30 days each, sold strictly in order, priced as a ladder — slot #1 costs $12, slot #2 $24, up to $72 for the last one. A sponsor slot cannot be outbid; it runs for its term and then it is open again.
The ladder prices scarcity, not position. Both rails stick to the top of the page, so all 6 slots are on screen from the moment it loads — slot #6 is not a worse placement than slot #1, there is just less of the rail left when you buy it. It climbs rather than falls so the first placement is cheap, which matters more than a tidier-looking price list.
The Firestarter
One seat sits above the ranks, held by whoever has paid the most across every listing they own. It is not for sale and has no price — it is worked out from the payments, so a refund stops counting toward it immediately.
The numbers on this page are real
The visitor and online counts are measured, never padded. What a placement here buys is reach, so inflating those figures would be selling a made-up audience — and they are the one thing you can check against your own analytics. Your listing's click count is measured the same way, which is why it is shown even when it is small.
"Online" means seen in the last five minutes.
A listing shows two click figures and they are not the same thing. Clicks counts requests to the outbound link. People counts distinct devices, so one visitor opening a listing five times is one person. People is the smaller and more useful number, and it slightly undercounts on purpose: a visitor's very first request carries no cookie yet, so it counts as a click but not yet as a person. We would rather understate that than inflate it.
Who you are paying
firebid.lol is operated by universite.lol, which is the Stripe account that processes payments — so that is the name you will see on the checkout page. Your bank statement will show FIREBID. We say so here and next to the pay button rather than leaving you to find out at the till.
What gets listed
Apps, SaaS, side projects — anything with a URL. Anything can be submitted, and anything can be taken down: malware, phishing, scams, adult content and impersonation get hidden, and hiding a listing does not refund it. Write to hello@firebid.lol if something on the board should not be.
